"Is it dessert or is it an appetizer?....it's both!"
I am posting this recipe for my friend Jessica, who is heading off to college today, since it is one of her favorites. I try to bring this to almost every church event I attend because it is always a big hit. I definitely can't take credit for this recipe since I found it in my Taste of Home magazine several years ago. Sometimes I double this recipe since it goes so quickly. Serving this with graham crackers gives the illusion that you are eating cheesecake and who doesn't like that? Sending you lots of love Jessica. Hope you all enjoy!!
Chocolate Chip Cheeseball
Ingredients:
1 stick of butter (don't use margarine)
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/4 tsp. vanilla
3/4 C. powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
3/4 C. miniature semisweet chocolate chips
3/4 C. finely chopped pecans
Graham crackers
Beat the cream cheese and butter in a mixing bowl until fluffy. Add the vanilla. Beat in the powdered sugar and brown sugar. Stir in chocolate chips. Place mixture on plastic wrap and bring the sides around to form a ball (it will be very sticky). Put the cheeseball in a small bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. I like to make this the night before so it has time to firm up and hold its shape. Before serving, remove plastic wrap and roll in the nuts. Serve with graham crackers.
